Outdoor Cats
You’ve just adopted your first pair of adorable, outdoor cats. You find yourself feeling extremely proud to be a cat parent and can’t help but flash pictures of your outdoor cats to everyone you see. You love watching your outdoor cats in their outside cat cages or outside cat enclosures and want to do everything in your power to make them as happy as possible. One of the first steps to accomplishing this goal is to understand your pet cat. Try to get a feel for the types of toys your outdoor cats enjoy. After placing certain toys in your outside cat cage or outside cat cages, watch to see if your pet plays with them. If you notice specific toys lying around unused in your outdoor pet cage, it’s pretty obvious that your pet cat was highly disinterested in them.
Making Your Outdoor Cats Happy
While all outdoor cats have their own personality and preferences, here are a few things that nearly all cats love and enjoy. These tips are a great way to speed up the bonding process between pet and owner.
- Outdoor cats love when you scratch behind their ears. If you haven’t noticed, your outdoor cats enjoy licking themselves immensely. They probably do this for hours as they sit in their outdoor pet cage or outside cat cages. But your outdoor cats cannot reach every part of their body. And one place that is exceptionally difficult to reach is behind their ears. Whenever you gently scratch your outdoor cats behind the ears you will probably notice that they relax and start to fall asleep in your arms. Do this often and your outdoor cats will fall in love with you quick as a flash.
- Outdoor cats love the smell of catnip. Felines love the smell of catnip. No one knows exactly why this is the case--but they are definitely attracted to the smell. As a result, you can spray catnip on certain toys in your outside cat enclosures or outside pet cage to make them more attractive for your outdoor cats. You can also buy toys that are scented with catnip for your pets to enjoy.
- Outdoor cats love to be petted. Whenever you step inside your outdoor pet cage or outside cat enclosures, take a few minutes to sit down and just pet your cat. If your outdoor cats are stretched out sunning themselves, sit close by and gently stroke their fur. Before long, your pet cat will start to feel extremely relaxed and maybe even fall asleep. Or he may crawl into your lap and purr contentedly. One of the reasons outdoor cats love to be petted or stroked is because this sensation feels similar to a massage for humans.
